One of the tallest native trees of Eastern North America, Tulip Tree features uniquely shaped leaves and large yellow tulip-shaped flowers which are hard to see because of the height of the tree. The interesting square leaves are a refreshing lawn green during the season, but turn an outstanding gold in fall. This is a fast-growing, hardy tree which is commonly pruned low to add interesting character to the landscape.
Where to put it:
Because of its large mature height and spread, Tulip Tree is best in open areas of the yard or in the parkway. Tulip Tree should be planted at least 15-20ft away from buildings.
