Quick Overview

Light up your neighborhood with the beauty of Starlite® Crabapple! Starlite packs a punch— this small tree can fit tight areas, and it provides ornamental & seasonal interest with its crisp white flowers, yellow fall color, and bright red crabapples. This new tree is a hot pick by Chicago area growers and homeowners alike.

Why it rocks:

Starlite® Crabapple will be the star of your yard! This new variety is a cross between Spring Snow & Rosthern Crabapples. Both display narrow, upright branching structures and profuse white flowers in spring. Starlite is built tough— cold-hardy, and disease-resistant. This tree has something to attract the eye in each season. Rosy-red buds coat its branches and open to reveal airy white, fragrant flowers. Deep, glossy, green pointed leaves unfurl in spring. In autumn, its canopy gets painted with a colorful pallet of bright yellows, complemented by shiny red crabapples. Its ornamental fruit will hold throughout fall and much of winter. The fruit is a popular food source amongst songbirds and adds a much-needed splash of color against the stark Illinois winter landscape.

Where to put it:

Are you looking to make a wise choice for your small yard while adding a visual impact to your landscape's appearance? Look no further! Starlite is it! Starlite® Crabapple reaches about 15 ft wide at full maturity. Its narrow upward sweeping branching lends itself to tight areas. Plant Starlite in landscape beds around the house, near patios, on the parkway, or anywhere an accent and shade is needed.

What it needs:

Starlite® Crabapple prefers full to partial sun for the best spring floral display. Please follow our tree care instructions for the first few growing seasons until the root system is well-established.
