Why it rocks:

Eastern Redbud is an absolute knockout in the spring, and is a definite focal point for any landscape. Eastern Redbud is a spectacular spring bloomer, with very showy pink to purple flowers held tightly on bare branches in early spring. A Redbud Tree is a beautiful addition to any outdoor space. The green heart-shaped leaves turn a buttery yellow in the fall, rivaling any small ornamental tree for specimen use in the home landscape.

Where to put it:

Eastern Redbud will benefit from being planted in a location which is somewhat sheltered from strong winds. Once reestablished this tree should have very little problem thriving; however, Redbud seems to be a little more sensitive than other ornamental trees for the first several years after transplant. Once established the payoff is apparent, and given Eastern Redbud’s interesting character, its makes an extremely versatile ornamental tree. Often used close to the house to add color and texture, this tree should be kept at least 10ft from buildings.

What it needs:

Eastern Redbud will benefit from being planted in a location which is somewhat sheltered from strong winds. Redbud will require more attention for the first few years than other ornamental trees.
