Why it rocks:
American Sentry® Linden is a newer American Linden selection that is tough and has proven to be very adaptable in the ever-changing Chicago climate. This tree has a striking, symmetrical form with strong branching. Its medium green, heart-shaped leaves will turn yellow in the fall. Late springtime brings a sweet treat— fragrant yellow flowers that appear after all the other flowering trees are done blooming.
Where to put it:
Due to its desirable symmetrical form, American Sentry® Linden can be used almost anywhere in the landscape. This showy tree is particularly beautiful lining parkways, or in street medians. This tree should be planted at least 15ft from buildings and makes an excellent lawn or street specimen, great by a pool or deck.
What it needs:
American Sentry® Linden is an extremely tolerant tree, tolerant of cold Chicago area winters, alkaline soil, dry and wet sites. This is a hardy tree that can grow in almost any condition. Please be sure to follow our tree care instructions for the first few growing seasons until the root system is well-established.
