Cherokee Daybreak Flowering Dogwood is a phenomenal Dogwood variety that we are excited to offer. Cherokee Daybreak is a white flowering Dogwood which features green and white variegated foliage during the season. In the fall the leaves turn an outstanding pink and red. Where to put it:
Cherokee Daybreak Flowering Dogwood can be used anywhere in the landscape to add some color and native flair. Dogwoods are an excellent specimen to plant near a patio, at corners of the house, or in groupings anywhere in the yard. Dogwoods are commonly used for privacy screening, foundation plantings, or anywhere where a small clump form tree is ideal. This species is not used enough in the modern landscape, and makes an excellent small tree that is one of the best native ornamentals growing in the US. What it needs:
Cherokee Daybreak Flowering Dogwood will benefit from a sheltered location. Although it is considered zone 5, the flowers will be at risk from late frosts in the spring. As a benefit, we only use Flowering Dogwoods that are grown from northern seed sources. This particular variety is known for its success in northern climates.
